The Stevenage Lytton Youth Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our 2026 production of We Will Rock You, the hit Queen musical.
This production is open to our Inters and Seniors groups (Years 6 - 17 years old) offering young performers the chance to take part in a full-scale youth theatre production in Hertfordshire.
About the Production – We Will Rock You
Set in a dystopian future where live music has been banned, We Will Rock You follows a group of rebels (the Bohemians) fighting to restore creativity and live music to the world.
This high-energy show combines rock vocals, comedy, and strong ensemble work, making it ideal for young performers who enjoy musical theatre and working as part of a team.
Who Can Audition?
Year 6 (ages 10/11) - 17 years old
Ensemble auditions take place on the same day as principal auditions

We encourage attendance where possible, but these sessions are not compulsory.
Sunday 4 January 2026 | 4–8pm Script read-through, music listening, and workshop-style exploration
Sunday 11 January 2026 | 4-8pm Music-focused session
Auditions
Sunday 18 January 2026 | 2–6pm
All roles, including ensemble, will audition on this date
Auditions will run in booked hourly slots to avoid long waiting times
Performers may audition and then leave
All under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or carer to sign in and complete forms
Show Week (Compulsory Dates)
All cast members must be available for the following:
Technical rehearsal: Sunday 7 June 2026
Dress rehearsal: Monday 8 June 2026
Performances: Wednesday 10 – Saturday 13 June 2026
Any known clashes must be declared at auditions. Availability issues raised later may mean a performer cannot take part.
Fees & Membership
Annual youth membership: £40
Reduced to £20 if a parent/guardian holds an active adult membership
Covers the show licence and materials hire
Compulsory show fee: £25
Absences Policy
Known absences must be declared on the audition form.
More than two undeclared absences will result in a warning from the production team
Ongoing or excessive absences may result in removal from the production
This policy is in place to maintain consistency and avoid last-minute changes during live performances.
Principal Roles
Galileo (16 yrs+) – A misfit who hears songs from the past and unknowingly becomes the Bohemians’ chosen one
Scaramouche (16 yrs +) – Sharp-witted, rebellious, and brave
Killer Queen – Ruthless ruler of Global Soft
Khashoggi – Enforcer for the Killer Queen
Buddy – Comic librarian and keeper of musical history
Brit – Bohemian rebel (Act 1, then ensemble)
Oz / Meat – Bohemian leaders and rebels
